AMD and HUMAIN, a company under the Public Investment Fund (PIF) focused on delivering global full-stack artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, have introduced a new 'AI in a Box' solution for enterprises across Saudi Arabia. This solution is designed to provide organizations with accessible AI computing capabilities, allowing them to deploy and test AI applications without the need for hyperscale infrastructure. It targets entry-level AI use cases across various industries, such as oil and gas, financial services, and manufacturing.

The 'AI in a Box' solution is developed by HUMAIN and powered by high-performance AMD Instinct GPUs and energy-efficient AMD EPYC CPUs. It offers an integrated computing platform that simplifies the adoption of AI technologies. This launch is part of a strategic collaboration between AMD and HUMAIN, which includes plans to invest up to $10 billion to support AI infrastructure initiatives in Saudi Arabia. The collaboration aims to accelerate the development and deployment of advanced AI computing capabilities in the Kingdom, supporting its ambition to become a global AI and technology hub.

Additionally, AMD, HUMAIN, and Cisco have announced plans to deploy up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia by 2030. This infrastructure is expected to provide large-scale computing capacity to meet the growing demand for AI applications and services. The 'AI in a Box' solution offers enterprises a practical entry point into AI adoption, enabling them to deploy initial AI workloads, evaluate their business value, and scale computing capabilities as needed.

Dr. Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, emphasized the collaboration's focus on making high-performance computing more accessible to businesses of various sizes across Saudi Arabia. Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, highlighted that the solution is designed to make advanced computing capabilities more practical for enterprises that do not initially require hyperscale infrastructure. This launch marks a significant step in developing Saudi Arabia's AI computing ecosystem, supporting the adoption of advanced technologies across key economic sectors and contributing to the Kingdom's broader digital transformation and AI ambitions.

Why this mattersFor developers and design practices in Madinah, this initiative could signal an increase in demand for AI-integrated infrastructure, potentially influencing project designs and technology integration strategies. The investment in AI infrastructure may also lead to new opportunities for collaboration with technology providers and an expanded pool of AI solutions applicable to various sectors, including hospitality and residential projects.
