HUMAIN and DataVolt start building first phase of Oxagon AI data center
HUMAIN and DataVolt have begun construction on the first phase of the planned 1.5 GW AI data center at Oxagon. The announcement appears on NEOM's website under the heading "AI data center construction commences".
Oxagon is described on the same page as NEOM's economic engine. NEOM says it is developing the digital backbone systems there to enable advanced manufacturing and other industries.
The page also describes the infrastructure around the site. Port of NEOM is operating 24/7 with expanded operations and facilitating trade across northwest Saudi Arabia. It strengthens connectivity through intermodal corridors linking Egypt, the region and Europe.
According to NEOM, the Port is expanding with an advanced container terminal and deeper integration with Oxagon's industrial ecosystem. NEOM presents it as a gateway for Saudi Arabia's maritime and trade ambitions.
NEOM also lists work on supporting systems for the region. It is developing major road networks to strengthen supply chains and providing water infrastructure it calls reliable and sustainable. It is also building energy infrastructure for a reliable, cost-effective and connected supply.
