Humain and G42 Seek External Capital for Expansion
Saudi Arabia’s Humain, majority-owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, is taking steps towards a potential listing by recruiting a 'preparation team'. CEO Tareq Amin announced the search for talent with experience in management consulting, financial strategy, and IPO preparation. No timeline for the IPO was provided. At the recent Leap technology conference in Riyadh, more than $15 billion in AI and technology investments were announced, highlighting the sector's growth. Abu Dhabi's G42, backed by Mubadala, is also considering bringing in outside investors and potentially selling a majority stake to American companies. Both companies are at an early stage in their plans. Vijay Valecha from Century Financial noted that an IPO could help Humain diversify funding as it shifts from infrastructure building to generating commercial returns. Chiro Ghosh from Sico highlighted the capital-intensive nature of AI companies and the role of sovereign wealth funds in leveraging investor interest.
