StatusMIS has confirmed the start of EPC works; final contract expected in two weeks.

Future of Artificial Intelligence Company (HUMAIN) has awarded Al Moammar Information Systems Company (MIS) an expanded scope for the design and construction of a major AI-dedicated data center project in Saudi Arabia, increasing the total planned capacity from 50 MW to 250 MW. The expanded contract represents a major increase in the scale of the project, with the total contract value now exceeding 689% of MIS’s 2025 revenue. Based on MIS’s reported 2025 revenue of approximately SAR 1.27 billion, the expanded contract value is equivalent to more than SAR 8.77 billion. The company has not disclosed a specific contract value in Saudi Riyals. Under the expanded scope, MIS will design and construct additional AI data centers with a combined capacity of 200 MW, taking the total capacity covered under the project to 250 MW. The additional facilities will be delivered in phases. The project forms part of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure and AI ecosystem and is expected to provide large-scale computing infrastructure to support the Kingdom’s growing artificial intelligence requirements. The contract scope includes the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of AI-focused data center facilities. MIS will undertake the design and construction of the additional 200 MW capacity, in addition to the previously awarded 50 MW facility, resulting in a total project capacity of 250 MW. MIS has confirmed that it will commence the approved EPC works for HUMAIN while both parties complete the procedures for executing the final contract. The final contract is expected to be signed within two weeks, according to the company. The company also confirmed that the expansion will not affect the progress of the original 50 MW project, with work continuing according to the previously announced schedule. The original HUMAIN contract, announced by MIS in March 2026, covered the design and construction of a 50 MW data center dedicated to artificial intelligence technologies and was valued at more than 155% of MIS’s 2024 revenue, including VAT. The latest award effectively increases the project’s capacity fivefold, from 50 MW to 250 MW. The major expansion underscores the accelerating development of Saudi Arabia’s AI and data center infrastructure as the Kingdom seeks to establish itself as a leading global hub for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and advanced digital technologies.

Why this mattersThis expansion significantly increases the scale of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which could impact the demand for related architectural and engineering services. For developers in Madinah, this suggests potential opportunities in AI-related projects and the need to consider the growing importance of digital infrastructure in planning and development.
