Syrian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdul Razzaq met with Mohammed Albuty, CEO of Saudi Arabia’s National Housing Company (NHC), to discuss strengthening cooperation in the housing sector. The meeting aimed to draw on Saudi experience in developing residential projects to support Syria's housing needs.

Abdul Razzaq emphasized the importance of collaboration with NHC to support the ministry’s strategic plan for addressing housing needs across Syria. He highlighted the need to distribute housing projects according to provincial needs, prioritize affected areas, reactivate stalled projects, and develop housing options for low-income households.

The Saudi delegation reviewed the Kingdom’s housing experience, including models, technologies, and coordination mechanisms. They affirmed NHC’s readiness to cooperate with Syria’s General Housing Establishment in expertise transfer, project implementation, and developing various housing models.

Both parties agreed to organize workshops for exchanging housing data and experiences and to establish frameworks and a roadmap for cooperation. They also agreed to share models from major Saudi projects and study their adaptability to Syria’s needs.

The meeting included deputy ministers and senior officials from the Syrian Investment Agency and the General Housing Establishment. NHC, established in 2016 and owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, supports the Kingdom’s real estate development and housing programs.

For a developer: This cooperation could open opportunities for developers in Saudi Arabia to expand their expertise and influence in the Syrian housing market, potentially leading to new projects and investments.
