Vision 2030 Projects Require Bankable Feasibility Studies

· Giga projects

Saudi Arabia is undertaking an unprecedented scale of construction projects as part of its Vision 2030 economic diversification plan. Key projects include NEOM, Qiddiya, Red Sea Global, ROSHN, and Diriyah, with a combined expected value exceeding USD 1 trillion upon completion, according to Fitch Ratings. The national construction and infrastructure pipeline is valued in the multi-trillion-riyal range, with unawarded projects alone estimated at $1.5 trillion as of early 2024.

The importance of a bankable feasibility study is emphasized as it converts project ideas into financial terms that investors and lenders can support. Without such studies, projects risk losing time and potential deals. The Saudi banking sector, with assets over SAR 4.5 trillion at the end of 2025, plays a crucial role in financing these projects, supported by an expansionary government budget.

Financing trends show a selective approach, with corporate loans growing at an average of 16 percent annually since 2022, while banking sector growth is expected to slow. This selectivity underscores the necessity of thorough feasibility studies to secure funding.

For a developer: Understanding the critical role of bankable feasibility studies is essential for securing investment in Saudi Arabia's ambitious Vision 2030 projects. As capital becomes more selective, developers must ensure their projects are backed by rigorous financial assessments to attract necessary funding.
