Construction supervision
Design intent held through delivery. The drawing is worth nothing if the site drifts from it.
Every project is substituted during construction. A specified product is out of stock, a tolerance cannot be held, a subcontractor proposes something cheaper. None of that is unusual and none of it is avoidable — what matters is who decides whether the substitution is acceptable.
If nobody is holding the intent, those decisions are made by whoever is on site that morning, and the building arrives as an average of small compromises. So supervision means being present while the decisions are live, not auditing them afterwards.
This is also why staying to the end is part of the offer rather than an extra. The French House complex was delivered in twelve months with full interior finishing; that timescale is only possible when design questions are answered at the speed the site asks them.
