Dr. Esam Alwagait, director of the National Information Center at the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), announced that the Tawakkalna application recorded an average of more than 4.4 billion transactions and over 13.3 million active users per month during the past six months. This announcement was made during a panel discussion at the LEAP 26 conference in Riyadh. The discussion, which also included Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, governor of the Digital Government Authority, focused on the integration of government services through Tawakkalna and its impact on improving user experience and government efficiency.

Alwagait highlighted the ambition to achieve zero duplication of information and zero paper by 2030, aiming for 100 percent proactive service provision. This would allow services to reach beneficiaries according to their needs without requiring resubmission of data. He emphasized the shift towards an integrated, beneficiary-centered system, with the pilot phase of the “Shamel” smart assistant being launched to enhance service provision.

Alsuwaiyan noted that 62 government entities have integrated their services into Tawakkalna, reflecting the advanced level of integration in the Kingdom’s digital government system. He stressed that this integration goes beyond merely consolidating services, aiming to create a cohesive government experience centered around beneficiaries, thus improving service quality and efficiency.

Why this mattersFor developers and design practices in Madinah, the integration of government services into a single platform like Tawakkalna could streamline processes and reduce administrative burdens. This digital transformation may lead to faster approvals and more efficient coordination with government entities, potentially lowering project timelines and costs.
