2026 National Greening Season to Launch on October 7
The National Greening Program announced that the 2026 National Greening Season will commence on October 7. This nationwide campaign is aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on expanding vegetation cover, combating desertification, promoting the planting of native species, and fostering environmental volunteerism across various sectors. Building on achievements from the past two years, which included the rehabilitation of over 51,000 hectares through rainwater harvesting and the sowing of 109 tons of seeds, the 2026 plans aim to rehabilitate an additional 60,000 hectares. The operations will involve the dispersal of more than 110 tons of seeds covering 70 native species, coordinated with cloud-seeding missions to enhance germination rates. The program targets a cumulative rehabilitation of 350,000 hectares by 2030. In conjunction with the launch, the program has also unveiled the official visual identity for the 2026 season, urging relevant entities to incorporate the branding into their media and communication materials.
