Saudi Aramco’s venture capital unit has supported Riyadh-based online construction supplier BRKZ in a $31 million funding round. The funding consists of $13 million in Series B equity, co-led by Wa’ed Ventures and 500 Global, with additional participation from BECO Capital and Anb Seed Fund. Additionally, Stride Ventures has committed $18 million in growth debt under BRKZ’s $30 million venture debt facility. BRKZ stated that the funding will aid its expansion into regional and global markets and enhance its AI capabilities. According to Founder and CEO Ibrahim Manna, BRKZ has seen record growth over the past year despite regional and supply-chain challenges. The company serves over 1,500 contracting companies and 150 building material factories, supported by 2,100 local and international suppliers. BRKZ reported sales of $133 million in raw, local, and imported building materials and processed over $1.4 billion in requests for quotations through its platform.

Why this mattersThis funding round could enhance BRKZ's capacity to serve the construction industry, potentially affecting supply chain efficiency and material costs in Madinah. The involvement of major investors like Aramco and the focus on AI capabilities may lead to innovations that benefit local projects.
