Parsons Secures SAR 15.88 Million Contract for Porta Jeddah
Saudi Real Estate Company (Al Akaria) has awarded Saudi Arabian Parsons Limited (Parsons) a SAR 15.883 million contract to provide project management and construction management (PMC) services for the Porta Jeddah mixed-use development in Jeddah. The contract covers project management and construction management services for the entire development, supporting Al Akaria in overseeing the project’s execution, coordinating the various parties involved, and ensuring progress in line with the project’s delivery objectives. Under the agreement, Parsons will also undertake a review of the hotel design, in addition to providing project oversight, construction management and coordination support throughout the development. Located in Al Nahdah District on King Abdulaziz Road in Jeddah, Porta Jeddah is being developed on a land area of approximately 47,971 square meters, with a total gross floor area of around 132,918 square meters. The mixed-use development will comprise an internationally branded hotel and serviced apartments, Grade A office space, and a retail promenade featuring shops, restaurants and cafés. The project will also include leisure facilities and public spaces, creating an integrated hospitality, business, retail and entertainment destination. The Parsons contract was signed at Al Akaria’s headquarters in Riyadh by Abdulmuhsin Albakr, Chief Real Estate Development Officer at Al Akaria, and Richard De La Mare, VP of Growth and Strategy at Parsons. Commenting on the agreement, Abdullah S. Abudawood, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Real Estate Company, said the signing represents an important step in restoring momentum across the company’s projects, accelerating execution and progressing developments toward completion in line with established delivery schedules. He added that Porta Jeddah is one of Al Akaria’s priority developments and represents the company’s first development in Jeddah, supporting its strategy of geographic expansion and development of distinctive projects across the Kingdom. Pierre Santoni, President, Infrastructure EMEA at Parsons, said the company values its collaboration with Al Akaria on Porta Jeddah and will apply its experience in project management, design review and construction management to support the project’s progress and objectives. Porta Jeddah forms part of Al Akaria’s development portfolio and is planned as an integrated destination combining hospitality, business, retail, dining and entertainment offerings for residents and visitors in Jeddah.
