The Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center (RIPC) has announced that starting January 1, 2027, only companies accredited by the RIPC will be allowed to undertake infrastructure projects in the Riyadh region. This initiative is part of the Center's efforts to improve the infrastructure project implementation system, enhance sector efficiency, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. The accreditation is expected to improve execution quality, reduce operational risks, and enhance the sustainability of assets and services provided to the region's residents. The RIPC's accreditation process will assess companies based on three main pillars: technical and operational capabilities (55 percent), financial stability (25 percent), and professional experience (20 percent). This framework aims to ensure that companies have the necessary technical expertise, financial solvency, and professional experience to execute projects according to approved standards.

Why this mattersThis mandate could affect contractors and developers in Madinah by setting a precedent for similar accreditation requirements in other regions, potentially influencing project timelines and contractor selection processes. Firms in Madinah may need to prepare for similar regulations, impacting their operational strategies and compliance efforts.
