The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Electricity Company at the latter's headquarters in Riyadh. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in accreditation fields and elevate the reliability of technical services, thereby improving operational quality and efficiency across the sector. The MoU was signed by Mr. Hassan Al-Wohaibi, Deputy CEO for Operations at SAAC, and Eng. Nasser Al-Sulami, Vice President of Technical Services at the Saudi Electricity Company. Under this partnership, SAAC will extend its accreditation services to cover the Saudi Electricity Company’s diverse operational activities. This framework allows the company to utilize laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification entities accredited by SAAC, ensuring reliable technical results and aligning operations with national and international benchmarks. The cooperation also emphasizes mutual knowledge transfer and institutional capacity building, with both parties sharing expertise and conducting specialized technical training programs. This initiative is part of SAAC's broader strategy to expand its network of public and private sector partnerships, supporting the Kingdom's quality infrastructure and contributing to Saudi Vision 2030.

Why this mattersThis MoU could influence the quality and reliability of technical services in Madinah, as the Saudi Electricity Company is a major utility provider. Enhanced accreditation services may lead to improved operational standards and efficiency, potentially lowering costs and increasing reliability for developers and architects working on projects in the region. The focus on knowledge transfer and capacity building may also expand the pool of qualified professionals available for local projects.
