Saudi Arabia to Build Expo 2030 Housing via PPP
Saudi Arabia is set to construct Expo Village, its inaugural residential community for Expo 2030 Riyadh, through a public-private partnership (PPP). The project is a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund-owned Expo 2030 Riyadh and Mohammed Al Habib Real Estate Company, with an investment of SAR3.2 billion ($855 million). Expo Village will serve as accommodation for official participants and delegations, featuring nearly 2,300 residential apartments with the capacity to house approximately 5,500 people.
The development will also include a variety of shops, restaurants, and other amenities, ensuring a comprehensive living environment. It will be well-connected to the Expo 2030 Riyadh site via the Expo metro station, King Khalid International Airport, and Riyadh's extensive transport network. Talal Al-Marri, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh, emphasized the significance of the village as a crucial step in the ongoing development of the Expo 2030 Riyadh site.
Al-Marri highlighted that as implementation accelerates, the focus remains on developing the necessary infrastructure, services, and facilities to meet the needs of official participants. He also indicated that further residential developments are anticipated as part of a legacy phase following the Expo. Expo 2030 Riyadh is scheduled to occur from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, and is expected to attract 197 official participants and 42 million visitors.
