Saudi contractors have secured projects worth more than $2.6 billion in July. The leading contributor was Cluster2 Co., which secured projects valued at SR1.88 billion. The Diriyah Gate Development Authority and the Public Investment Fund each secured projects worth around SR1.16 billion. Midad Real Estate Investment & Development Co. followed with nearly SR1.04 billion in projects, while Qiddiya Investment Co. secured roughly SR750 million. The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) anticipates that 11 more projects will be awarded to contractors in August. Over 70 percent of these are expected to be concentrated in the building, construction, and infrastructure sectors. Approximately half of these projects are expected to be located in the Eastern Province and Makkah.

Why this mattersThis announcement indicates a robust pipeline of construction and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, which could present opportunities for architectural and development practices in Madinah. The focus on building and infrastructure sectors may lead to increased demand for design and construction services, potentially impacting project timelines and resource allocation.
