US Announces Transportation Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia
The United States Department of Commerce, through its International Trade Administration (ITA), has announced a Transportation & Logistics Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia. This mission is designed to provide U.S. firms with market insights, industry and government contacts, and opportunities to advance specific projects. The goal is to increase U.S. exports of smart and intermobility technologies, as well as other products and services, to Saudi Arabia's expanding market.
Saudi Arabia's transportation industry has been growing rapidly, driven by the Kingdom's Vision 2030 initiative. This initiative aims to transform Saudi Arabia into a regional and international logistical and aviation hub. In 2021, the Saudi government announced plans to invest $147 billion in transport and logistics by 2030, with $9.06 billion allocated for infrastructure and transportation in the 2023 budget.
The trade mission will involve one-on-one business appointments with potential buyers, distributors, and joint venture partners. Delegates will also meet with key government authorities and companies, including the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and Saudi Arabia Railways. These meetings will cover topics such as procurement, tenders, policies, and regulations.
The participation fee for the trade mission is $2,600 for small or medium-sized enterprises and $3,500 for large firms or trade associations. Additional representatives can join for $1,000 each. Participants are responsible for their travel, lodging, meals, and incidentals. Interpreter and driver services are available at an additional cost.
Informational sessions will be hosted by the Global Automotive and Smart Mobility team, with updates from Commercial Specialists in Jeddah and Riyadh. Interested parties must register by August 30, 2023, to participate, with applications considered after this date if space allows.
